For this analytical work, which forms no part of a Sanitary Inspector's duties, we apprehend the Government would not object to award Mr Macpherson some adequate remuneration in addition to his pay as Sanitary Inspector, and the Colonial Surgeon considers that a salary of $480 or £100 a year is the least sum that could with justice be offered to Mr Macpherson for this branch of his professional work. Mr Macpherson's total income would therefore be $2640 or £550 a year.
